It’s a cross between Cthulhu and Sherlock Holmes, and it sounded damned interesting. The basic premise of this story and game is that the Cthulhu Old Ones have taken over the world and there are two factions fighting around the world: Loyalists who are minions of the Old Ones and Restorationists who are fighting against them and trying to get the world to see what’s really happening. ![]() That game was Martin Wallace’s A Study in Emerald (2nd Edition), based on the Neil Gaiman short story of the same name. It looked truly interesting, so I thought “why not? Her criminal history is a reflection of Johannesburg, the desciption of the city is crime ridden and gives the author a feeling that there will be no “clean” characters in this novel. Zinzi is also instantly classified as a criminal because she has an animal, a sloth, attached to her at all times. Although she is labeled as “Junkie” and a drug addict, she has a unique power/ability of being able to find things that no one else can and has seemingly made an incredible recovery from her addiction, she is now trying to paypack her debts she acquired from her old lifestyle. Zoo city describes its protagonist Zinzi as a criminal who is very misunderstood.
